PDE4C Antibody (4E5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 kappa light chain antibody that detects PDE4C protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-PDE4C antibody (4E5) is available as the non-conjugated format. PDE4C protein is a member of the phosphodiesterase family, which plays a crucial role in the hydrolysis of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) to 5′AMP, thereby regulating intracellular cAMP levels that are vital for various cellular processes, including signal transduction, inflammation, and neuronal signaling. PDE4 family is characterized by a unique upstream conserved region (UCR), and the human PDE4C gene, located on chromosome 19p13.1, produces several splice variants, including isoforms PDE4C1-7. Notably, the long isoforms of PDE4C contain both UCR1 and UCR2, which are essential for the dimerization of PDE4 isoforms, while the short isoforms possess only UCR2. This structural distinction influences the enzyme′s activity and regulatory mechanisms, making PDE4C a significant target for therapeutic interventions in conditions such as asthma, depression, and other inflammatory diseases.
