p-MEK-1 Antibody (B-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Ser 298 phosphorylated MEK1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). p-MEK-1 (B-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. MEK1, a crucial member of the MAP kinase kinase family, plays a vital role in the MAPK signaling pathway by specifically phosphorylating ERK, which is essential for cell proliferation, differentiation, and survival. Phosphorylation of MEK1 at Ser 298 enhances kinase activity, facilitating activation of downstream MAP kinases. This regulatory mechanism enables proper transmission of extracellular signals to the nucleus, influencing various cellular responses. Understanding p-MEK-1 phosphorylation state helps elucidate signal transduction pathways and their implications in diseases such as cancer, where aberrant signaling can lead to uncontrolled cell growth.
