NF-H Antibody (2D2) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects neurofilament-H (NF-H) in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). NF-H is a crucial component of the neuronal cytoskeleton, belonging to the intermediate filament family, and plays a significant role in maintaining the structural integrity of neurons. NF-H′s dynamic nature is underscored by numerous phosphorylation sites, which are targeted by various protein kinases, including protein kinase A, protein kinase C, and cyclin-dependent kinase 5. These phosphorylation events are vital for regulating neurofilament assembly and disassembly, which in turn influences axon caliber and overall neuronal function. Alterations in NF-H phosphorylation and metabolism are often linked to neurodegenerative diseases such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Parkinson′s disease, and Alzheimer′s disease, making NF-H a key biomarker for studying these conditions. Anti-NF-H antibody (2D2) provides researchers with a powerful tool for investigating the role of neurofilaments in neuronal health and disease, facilitating a deeper understanding of the underlying mechanisms of neurodegeneration.
