KLF6 Antibody (2F5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects KLF6 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). KLF6, also known as transcription factor ZF9, B cell derived 1 (BCD1), and core promoter element-binding protein (COPEB), plays a crucial role in regulating gene expression during development and cellular processes. This nuclear DNA-binding protein is primarily expressed in the placenta, where KLF6 is co-expressed with KLF4 and pregnancy glycoprotein in the same cell types of placenta villi and membranes, highlighting its importance in placental development and function. Additionally, KLF6 is involved in reducing cell proliferation by upregulating p21 in a manner that is independent of p53, which is significant for maintaining cellular homeostasis and preventing uncontrolled cell growth. The gene encoding human KLF6 is located on chromosome 10p15 and has been implicated in a subset of human prostate cancer, making KLF6 a valuable target for research in cancer biology and developmental regulation. Anti-KLF6 antibody (2F5) is an essential tool for scientists studying these critical biological processes.
