    SEE ALSO...

HUNK Antibody (B-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects HUNK protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). HUNK (B-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. HUNK protein, also known as hormonally upregulated Neu-associated kinase or MAK-V in mice, is a novel SNF1-related serine/threonine kinase that plays a crucial role in cellular signaling pathways. HUNK protein is primarily localized in the cytoplasm and centrosome, which is significant because this localization is essential for regulating cell cycle progression and cellular responses to hormonal signals. Notably, overexpression of HUNK protein has been linked to approximately 50% of breast carcinomas, suggesting potential as a diagnostic and prognostic molecular marker in cancer. Additionally, HUNK protein interacts with serine/threonine-protein kinase SNF1-like kinase 2 (SIK), which phosphorylates insulin receptor substrate 1 (IRS1) at Ser 794 in insulin-stimulated adipocytes, thereby modulating insulin signal transduction efficiency. SIK activation is further regulated by phosphorylation on Thr 175 by STK11 in conjunction with STE20-related adapter-alpha and CAB39, highlighting the intricate network of signaling pathways in which HUNK is involved.
