Hint1 Antibody (B-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Hint1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Hint1 antibody (B-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Hint1 protein, also known as histidine triad nucleotide binding protein 1, PRKCNH1, or PKCI1, is a 126 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in cellular metabolism and signaling. Hint1 is localized in both the cytoplasm and nucleus, where Hint1 exists as a homodimer and contains a HIT (histidine triad) domain, which is essential for enzymatic activity. Hint1 protein hydrolyzes adenosine 5′-monophosphoramidate substrates, such as AMP-N-alanine methyl ester, AMP-morpholidate, and AMP-alpha-acetyl lysine methyl ester, thereby influencing various cellular processes, including apoptosis and protein kinase C (PKC) function. Downregulation of Hint1 mRNA has been linked to decreased levels of p53 and Bax, indicating Hint1′s role as a haplo-insufficient tumor suppressor. Aberrant promoter hypermethylation of Hint1 gene may contribute to hepatocarcinogenesis development, highlighting Hint1′s significance in cancer biology.
