Gabexat-Mesylat ist ein Faktor-X-Hemmer. In höheren Konzentrationen hemmt Gabexat Kallikrein-1 (Ki = 2,6mM), C1-Esterase (IC50 = 520µM) sowie Phospholipase A2 (IC50 = 500µM), NOS2 der Ratte (Ki = 5mM) sowie NOS1 und NOS3 (Ki = 150µM) und Kupfer-Amin-Oxidase der Schweineniere (Ki = 27µM), jedoch nicht Chymotrypsin.
