QUICK LINKS

Fluorescein-4-isothiocyanate (FITC-II) is a fluorescent dye used to localize molecules in cells which maybe visualized by microscopy. It can label proteins, antibodies, and nucleic acids. The isothiocyanate group allows Fluorescein-4-isothiocyanate (FITC-II) to react with amino groups, typically the side chain of lysine residues in proteins or the N-terminus of peptides, forming a stable thiourea linkage. Fluorescein-4-isothiocyanate (FITC-II)is a highly fluorescent compound that absorbs light in the blue region (~490 nm) and emits light in the green region (~520 nm) of the spectrum. This makes it valuable for fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, and other fluorescence-based assays.
