Clethodim is a colorless organic compound belonging to the cyclohexanedione family of herbicides. It serves as a systemic graminicide and post-emergent herbicide primarily targeting grasses, notably Lolium rigidum. While impure samples may exhibit a yellowish tint, the compound itself is colorless. Clethodim acts as an inhibitor of acetyl-coenzyme A carboxylase (ACCase), making it effective in controlling grass weed infestation in dicot crops.
