    SEE ALSO...

CD22 Antibody (D-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects CD22 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CD22 (D-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CD22 protein, also known as B-lymphocyte cell adhesion molecule (BLCAM), sialic acid-binding Ig-like lectin 2 (Siglec-2), and Leu-14, is a type I integral membrane glycoprotein that plays a crucial role in regulating B cell signaling and maintaining B cell homeostasis. CD22 is primarily located on the surface of B lymphocytes, where CD22 functions as a negative regulator of B cell receptor signaling, thereby preventing excessive activation and promoting self-tolerance. This localization is vital for proper immune system functioning, as CD22 helps prevent autoimmune responses and ensures B cells respond appropriately to antigens. Additionally, CD22 undergoes alternative splicing, resulting in two isoforms, CD22α and CD22β, with CD22β being predominant. The presence of these isoforms and their differential expression during B cell maturation further underscores CD22′s importance in B cell development and function, making anti-CD22 antibody (D-5) an essential tool for researchers studying B cell biology and related diseases.
