SEE ALSO...

CD2 Antibody (OX34) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects CD2 in mouse and rat samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). CD2 is a crucial transmembrane glycoprotein primarily expressed on peripheral blood T lymphocytes, natural killer (NK) cells, and thymocytes, as well as on mouse B cells and rat splenic macrophages. CD2′s primary function is to mediate cell adhesion through interaction with CD58 ligand, which enhances antigen-specific T cell activation. This interaction is vital for optimizing immune system recognition, facilitating communication between helper T lymphocytes and antigen-presenting cells, as well as between cytolytic effectors and target cells. The importance of CD2 in immune responses underscores CD2′s potential as a therapeutic target in various immunological disorders. Anti-CD2 antibody (OX34) provides a reliable tool for researchers studying T cell activation and immune interactions, making anti-CD2 antibody (OX34) an essential addition to any immunology research toolkit.

How can CD2 (OX34): sc-53036 mouse monoclonal antibody be used for double or triple staining, if the other primary antibodies are also raised in mouse?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
In this case, we recommend using a directly conjugated mouse monoclonal primary antibody. This antibody is available conjugated to phycoerythrin (sc-53036 PE) or fluoroscein (sc-53036 FITC).
