Canine Heartworm Antibody (HW2-81) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Canine Heartworm (D. immitis) in canine heartworm by western blotting (WB), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Canine Heartworm, a parasitic roundworm, is transmitted through mosquito bites, where larvae, known as microfilariae, are ingested and subsequently transferred to uninfected hosts. Once inside the host, microfilariae undergo several developmental stages, ultimately maturing into adult heartworms that can grow up to 12 inches in length and reside in the right side of the heart. Anti-Canine Heartworm antibody (HW2-81) is essential for diagnosing and monitoring heartworm infections, allowing for timely intervention and treatment. Canine Heartworm (HW2-81) monoclonal antibody′s interactions with host immune responses can provide insights into the pathogenesis of heartworm disease, making this tool valuable in both clinical and research settings.
