CALCOCO2 Antibody (C-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects CALCOCO2 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CALCOCO2, also known as nuclear dot protein 52 (NDP52), is a 446 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in the organization of the actin cytoskeleton and is essential for ruffle formation, which is vital for cellular processes such as migration and adhesion. CALCOCO2 is predominantly localized to the perinuclear region of the cytoplasm and nuclear dots, where CALCOCO2 acts as a subunit of nuclear domain 10 (ND10) bodies. These ND10 bodies are believed to be associated with the nuclear matrix and may influence the life cycles of various viruses, including herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1). CALCOCO2 is expressed ubiquitously, with the highest levels found in skeletal muscle, and CALCOCO2 interacts with proteins such as Myosin VI, highlighting CALCOCO2′s importance in membrane trafficking pathways and developmental events.
