CA I Antibody (C-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 antibody that detects carbonic anhydrase I (CA I) in mouse and rat samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CA I plays a crucial role in the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide, which is essential for maintaining acid-base balance in the body, facilitating respiration, and supporting various physiological processes, including bone resorption and the production of bodily fluids like saliva and gastric acid. CA I is primarily located in the cytoplasm, where CA I contributes to the regulation of pH and carbon dioxide levels, thereby influencing metabolic processes and cellular functions. Notably, the CA1 gene, which encodes CA I, is situated on chromosome 8 and is part of a larger cluster of carbonic anhydrase genes, highlighting its evolutionary significance.
