C1r Antibody (F-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects C1r protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). C1r (F-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. C1r protein plays a crucial role in the complement system, specifically as part of C1 complex, which is essential for initiating the classical pathway of complement activation. This pathway helps opsonize pathogens, promote inflammation, and facilitate immune complex clearance. C1 complex, composed of C1q, C1r, and C1s, operates as a calcium-dependent trimolecular structure, where C1r forms a dimer that undergoes cleavage to create two active chains, A and B, necessary for enzymatic function. Understanding C1r structure and function helps elucidate roles in immune regulation and potential implications in autoimmune diseases and therapeutic interventions.
