BID Antibody (E-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects BID in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-BID antibody (E-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. BID plays a crucial role in the regulation of apoptosis, acting as a pro-apoptotic member of the Bcl-2 family. BID contains a BH3 domain that enables interaction with anti-apoptotic proteins like Bcl-2 and Bcl-x, effectively countering their death-repressing effects. This interaction is vital for the apoptotic signaling pathway, as BID helps to promote cell death in response to various stress signals, thereby maintaining cellular homeostasis and preventing uncontrolled cell proliferation. BID is predominantly localized in the cytosol but can also be found in membrane fractions, with high expression levels in the kidney and detectable levels in the brain, spleen, liver, testis, and lung. BID′s ability to heterodimerize with other proteins, such as Bax, further underscores BID′s importance in the intricate balance of cell survival and death, making BID (E-7) monoclonal antibody an essential tool for researchers studying apoptosis and related cellular processes.

Is the Alexa-Fluor conjugate of this AB available for flow cytometry experiments as stated in the description or is it not, since the unconjugated AB is just recommended for WB, IP, IF & ELISA?

Asked by: Fest
Thank you for your question. We do not test all of our antibodies in flow cytometry. We recommend and warrant the Alexa Fluor® 488, 546, 594, and 647 conjugates of BID (E-7): sc-514622 for use in flow cytometry. You can find our recommended protocol for flow cytometry by following this link: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/flow-cytometry

What application is the blocking peptide sc-514622 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
