Vasodilator-stimulated phosphoprotein (VASP) activators refer to a group of chemical compounds that promote the activation or functionality of VASP, a protein that plays a crucial role in cell morphology, motility, and adhesion. VASP is an actin-associated protein and its activity is often related to the dynamics of actin polymerization and depolymerization. Consequently, VASP activators influence cell shape and movement by modulating the assembly and organization of the actin cytoskeleton. The activity of VASP is often regulated by phosphorylation, and several kinases are known to phosphorylate VASP at specific serine residues, which in turn affects its interactions with other cellular proteins.
