QUICK LINKS

Alkaline Phosphatase (AP) is a dimeric glycoprotein. This enzyme requires calcium, magnesium, or zinc divalent ions for activity. The specificity of Alkaline Phosphatase (AP) is broad and includes phosphate esters of alcohols, amines, phenols, and pyrophosphates. Alkaline Phosphatase (AP) is often used to dephosphorylate proteins and nucleic acids. This product is supplied as a high activity grade and is recommended for antibody and protein conjugation. Activity range: 3,000-6,000 U/mg protein. Unit Definition: One unit will hydrolyze 1 µmole of p-nitrophenol from p-nitrophenyl-phosphate per minute at 37°C, pH 9.8 in diethanolamine buffer.
