Phosphoric acid solution is an inorganic acid widely used in scientific research as a reagent for a variety of purposes. For example, it is used for high-performance liquid chromatography. It is also employed to adjust the pH of solutions, as a buffer, and as a catalyst in chemical reactions. In addition, Phosphoric acid solution is used to prepare metal phosphates, such as zinc phosphate and ferric phosphate, and to prepare phosphorylated compounds, such as phosphorylated sugars and phospholipids, like lecithin. Phosphoric acid is involved in many different processes, including the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins, and lipids, the synthesis of DNA and RNA, and the absorption of calcium and other minerals.
