Orientin is a flavone, a chemical flavonoid compound. Orientin have been investigated for its anti-oxidant, antihypertensive and antihyperlipidemic activity. Orientin, a naturally derived flavonoid, is abundantly present in various plant sources, notably the European elderberry (Sambucus nigra). Extensive in vitro investigations have primarily centered around orientin′s remarkable antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-cancer properties. Through these studies, it has been demonstrated that orientin possesses the ability to effectively neutralize free radicals, mitigate inflammation, and impede the proliferation of cancer cells within cell culture systems.
