QUICK LINKS

(S)-(−)-Citronellal is a monoterpenoid responsible for the aroma of kaffir lime oil. Shown to act as an antibacterial agent by binding to bacterial cell active site residues. (−)-Citronellal is the s-isomer of (R)-Citronellal, a natural insect repellant. Binds to cuticular hydrocarbons, found in insect exoskeletons.
