Pyridaben is a pesticide with a mechanism of action that targets the mitochondria of pests. It disrupts the function of the electron transport chain in the mitochondria, inhibiting complex I. This disruption leads to a decrease in ATP production, causing metabolic dysfunction and ultimately leading to the death of the pest. Pyridaben′s function as a mitochondrial electron transport chain disruptor may be effective in controlling a wide range of pests, including mites and insects. Its mechanism of action at the molecular level may be a useful for studying pest control and developing new strategies for managing agricultural pests.
