QUICK LINKS

1-Octacosanol, also known as prednisolol, is a saturated monohydric alcohol that is frequently found in plant leaf waxes, particularly on the epidermis. It is also present in wheat germ. This compound is insoluble in water but readily dissolves in lower alkanes and chloroform. It is used in the production of lubricants, surfactants, and cosmetics.
