Cymarin is a polyphenol antioxidant found in a variety of plants including Marigold (Calendula officinalis). Cymarin is the subject of research in areas such as oncology, immune response, and microbial infection control as a result of its cellular characteristics. Research suggests that cymarin can hinder cancer cell proliferation, trigger apoptosis, and impede angiogenesis, as well as suppress the activation of NF-κB, a protein complex that plays a role in inflammation. Additionally, it appears to curtail the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines like TNF-α and IL-6. Cymarin′s effectiveness against bacterial and fungal growth further demonstrates its potential utility in scientific exploration.
