(+)-α-Lipoic Acid (LA) is an indispensable naturally occurring compound. Acting as a cofactor for various enzymes such as pyruvate dehydrogenase, (+)-α-Lipoic Acid facilitates their proper functioning. Although the precise mechanism of action of (+)-α-Lipoic Acid remains incompletely elucidated, it is thought to operate by augmenting the production of glutathion.
