Naringin hydrate is a citrus bioflavonoid found to inhibit cytochrome P450 monooxygenase activity in mouse liver. Naringin hydrate prevents toxin-induced cytoskeletal disruption and apoptotic liver cell death. In addition, it was found to have hypocholesterolemic effect by inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase as well as ACAT activities. Naringin hydrate is an inhibitor of CYP1A2 and CYP3A4. Naringin is an inhibitor of OATP.
