Integrin βId Inhibitors

The chemical class known as Integrin β1d Inhibitors consists of compounds that can indirectly impact the activity and function of the integrin β1d subunit through various mechanisms. These inhibitors are not directly selective to integrin β1d but can influence the signaling pathways and cellular processes associated with integrin function.

Compounds such as Cilengitide, RGD Peptide, and Echistatin function by antagonizing the ligand-binding activity of integrins, which can indirectly affect the function of integrins containing the β1d subunit. By competing with natural ligands for binding to the extracellular domain of integrins, these inhibitors can disrupt the integrin-mediated cell adhesion and downstream signaling.
