C/EBP ζ Activators

C/EBP ζ activators encompass a range of chemical compounds that indirectly promote the functional activity of C/EBP ζ through diverse signaling pathways. Compounds like Forskolin and IBMX increase intracellular cAMP levels, which activate PKA, a kinase that can phosphorylate and thereby enhance the transcriptional activity of C/EBP ζ. Similarly, PGE2, through its interaction with G-protein-coupled receptors, raises cAMP levels, serving the same purpose. LiCl's inhibition of GSK-3 stabilizes C/EBP ζ by preventing its phosphorylation-based suppression, while AICAR activates AMPK, which may enhance C/EBP ζ activity through the phosphorylation of associated transcription factors and coactivators. PMA, a PKC activator, and Oleic Acid, a PPAR activator, may also enhance the DNA-binding activity of C/EBP ζ through direct phosphorylation or by upregulating its expression, respectively.
