SEE ALSO...

ZP2 Antibody (C-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ZP2 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ZP2 Antibody (C-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ZP2 plays a crucial role in the fertilization process as a secondary sperm receptor, binding to sperm only after the sperm acrosome reaction has been induced. This interaction facilitates the initial binding of sperm to the oocyte, which is essential for successful fertilization. The zona pellucida, a glycoprotein matrix surrounding the oocyte, contains ZP2 along with ZP1 and ZP3, and during fertilization ZP2 undergoes proteolytic cleavage, altering its function. The dynamic changes in ZP2 and its interactions with other zona pellucida proteins underscore its importance in reproductive biology, making anti-ZP2 antibody (C-7) an invaluable tool for researchers studying gamete interaction and fertilization mechanisms.
