Septin 10 Antibody (C-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects SEPT10 in human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SEPT10 is a 517-residue polypeptide that plays a crucial role in cellular processes, particularly in cytokinesis, where SEPT10 contributes to proper cell division during mitosis. SEPT10 is predominantly localized in the cytoplasm and nucleus, which is significant as SEPT10 localization is essential for organizing the cytoskeleton and facilitating contractile ring formation during cell division. SEPT10 expression is ubiquitous, with highest levels found in placenta, lung, kidney, heart, skeletal muscles, liver, and various tumor cell lines, indicating SEPT10′s importance in both normal physiology and disease states. Notably, upon maturation induced by lipopolysaccharide, dendritic cells exhibit increased SEPT10 expression, highlighting SEPT10′s potential role in immune responses. Complex transcriptional regulation of septins, including alternative splicing, further underscores the functional diversity and regulatory mechanisms that govern SEPT10′s activity in various biological contexts.
