Datasheets
  • PF-4 Antibody (G-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 κ, cited in 1 publications, provided at 200 µg/ml
  • specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 33-67 near the N-terminus of PF-4 of PF-4 of human origin
  • recommended for detection of precursor and mature chain of PF-4 and PF4V1 of human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA
  • m-IgG Fc BP-HRP, m-IgG1 BP-HRP and m-IgGκ BP-HRP are the preferred secondary detection reagents for PF-4 Antibody (G-7) for WB applications. These reagents are now offered in bundles with PF-4 Antibody (G-7) (see ordering information below).

PF-4 Antibody (G-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects platelet factor-4 (PF-4) in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PF-4 is a 70 amino acid protein released from the alpha-granules of activated platelets, playing a crucial role in hemostasis by binding with high affinity to heparin and related sulfated glycosaminoglycans. This interaction neutralizes heparin-like molecules on the endothelial surface of blood vessels, thereby inhibiting antithrombin III activity and promoting coagulation. PF-4 also acts as a potent chemoattractant for neutrophils and fibroblasts, suggesting involvement in inflammatory responses and wound healing processes. Studies have shown that PF-4 expression is significantly elevated in the spleens of adult mice with allergic dermatitis, indicating a potential role in atopic dermatitis pathogenesis. The gene encoding PF-4 is located on human chromosome 4q13.3 and is classified as a small inducible gene, reflecting its size and stimulation during platelet activation. Anti-PF-4 antibody (G-7) serves as an essential tool for researchers investigating PF-4′s multifaceted roles in coagulation and inflammation.
