SEE ALSO...

NF-H Antibody (D-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects neurofilament-H (NF-H) in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NF-H is a crucial component of the neuronal cytoskeleton, playing a significant role in maintaining neuronal structural integrity. NF-H primarily localizes in the axonal cytoplasm, contributing to neurofilament formation essential for proper neuronal function. Neurofilaments regulate axon caliber, which affects nerve impulse conduction speed. NF-H undergoes extensive post-translational modifications, particularly phosphorylation, influencing interactions with other cytoskeletal elements and signaling pathways. Dysregulation of NF-H phosphorylation has been implicated in various neurodegenerative diseases, such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Parkinson′s disease, and Alzheimer′s disease, highlighting NF-H importance in both neuronal health and disease. Anti-NF-H antibody (D-9) provides a valuable tool for researchers studying neurofilament assembly dynamics and implications in neurodegenerative conditions.

Can NF-H (D-9): sc-137009 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. Yes, NF-H (D-9): sc-137009 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
