    SEE ALSO...

MTH1 Antibody (E-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects MTH1 in mouse and rat samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). MTH1, also known as NUDT1 (nudix (nucleoside diphosphate linked moiety X)-type motif 1), is a 179 amino acid cytoplasmic protein belonging to the nudix hydrolase family, which plays a crucial role in maintaining genomic integrity. MTH1 is highly expressed in the testis, thymus, and proliferating blood lymphocytes, where MTH1 functions as an antimutagenic agent by hydrolyzing oxidized purine nucleoside triphosphates into their corresponding monophosphates. The enzymatic activity of MTH1, particularly in converting ATP and GTP into AMP and GMP, is vital for preventing the misincorporation of GTP into DNA, thereby averting A:T to C:G transversions that could lead to mutations. The cytoplasmic localization of MTH1 suggests a role in the sanitization of nucleotide pools for both mitochondrial and nuclear genomes, ensuring the fidelity of DNA replication and repair processes. Four isoforms of MTH1 exist, with three arising from alternative splicing and one from a single-nucleotide polymorphism, highlighting the complexity of regulation. Overexpression of MTH1 has been implicated in the development of prostate and lung carcinomas, making MTH1 a potential target for therapeutic intervention. Anti-MTH1 antibody (E-2) is an essential tool for researchers investigating the role of MTH1 in cellular processes and disease mechanisms.
