MCH-1R Antibody (52-W7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects the MCH-1R protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-MCH-1R antibody (52-W7) is available as a non-conjugated format. The melanin-concentrating hormone (MCH) is a 19 amino acid cyclic neuropeptide predominantly expressed in the hypothalamus, where MCH plays a crucial role in regulating various physiological processes, including feeding behavior, aggression, anxiety, arousal, and reproductive functions. MCH achieves these effects by modulating the release of luteinizing hormone (LH), which is essential for reproductive health. The melanin-concentrating hormone receptor (MCHR), also known as SLC-1, is a glycosylated G-protein coupled receptor that mediates the actions of MCH through Gai and/or Gaq signaling pathways. MCHR is expressed in several brain regions, including the cerebral cortex, amygdala, thalamus, and hypothalamus, highlighting MCHR′s importance in central nervous system functions. Notably, MCH and MCHR have been implicated in stimulating leptin expression and secretion in adipocytes, suggesting that targeting MCH and MCHR may offer new avenues for obesity modulation and related metabolic disorders.
