HSP 47 Antibody (E-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects HSP 47 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). HSP 47, also known as collagen 1, serpinh1, collagen-binding protein 1 (CBP1), and gp46, is a crucial molecular chaperone that plays a significant role in the biosynthesis of collagen type I. HSP 47 is predominantly located in the endoplasmic reticulum of cells that produce procollagen, where HSP 47 assists in the proper folding and assembly of collagen molecules, ensuring their structural integrity and functionality. HSP 47′s location is essential for the secretion of procollagen from these cells, thereby influencing the extracellular matrix formation and tissue repair processes. Additionally, HSP 47 acts as a stress response molecule, sequestering abnormal procollagen following cellular insult, which highlights HSP 47′s protective role in maintaining collagen homeostasis. HSP 47 synthesis is upregulated by cytokines such as transforming growth factor beta (TGFβ) and interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β), further emphasizing HSP 47′s involvement in cellular stress responses and tissue remodeling.
