COG7 Antibody (L-06) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects COG7 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). COG7, also known as CDG2E, is a 770 amino acid peripheral membrane protein that plays a crucial role in the structure and function of the Golgi apparatus, which is essential for proper glycosylation and vesicular transport processes. COG7 is a vital component of the conserved oligomeric Golgi (COG) complex, which consists of three subcomplexes—LDLC, SEC34, and GTT—that work together to maintain Golgi integrity and facilitate vesicle docking and fusion. The importance of COG7 is underscored by its involvement in congenital disorders of glycosylation type 2E (CDG2E), where mutations in the COG7 gene lead to significant clinical manifestations, including psychomotor retardation, hypotonia, coagulation disorders, and immunodeficiency due to impaired N-glycosylation. Anti-COG7 antibody (L-06) enables researchers to gain insights into the functional dynamics of the Golgi apparatus and the pathological mechanisms underlying glycosylation disorders, making this tool invaluable for both basic and clinical research.
