CMV UL94 Antibody (Ul-9R) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the CMV UL94 protein of cytomegalovirus origin by western blotting (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF). CMV UL94 (Ul-9R) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Cytomegalovirus (CMV), also known as human herpesvirus 5 (HHV-5), is a member of the herpes virus family, which includes other well-known viruses such as herpes simplex virus types 1 and 2, Varicella Zoster Virus, and Epstein Barr virus. While CMV typically causes mild symptoms in healthy individuals, CMV can lead to severe complications in immunocompromised patients. CMV UL94 plays a crucial role in the viral life cycle, particularly in the regulation of gene expression. CMV UL94 is a late protein that is essential for the assembly and release of viral particles, making CMV UL94 a key target for therapeutic interventions. The regulation of the CMV UL94 promoter is complex and involves the cellular protein p53, which is known for its role in tumor suppression and cellular stress responses.
