Which tissue or cell can be a positive control for calpain2 IHC ?

Thank you for your question. Bronchus tissue, fallopian tube, gall bladder or rectum tissues are all good positive controls for this protein for IHC.

Was the antibody immunized against isoform 1 or 2 of calpain-2? Isoform 2 lacks the first 78 amino acids of isoform 1.

Thank you for your question. Calpain 2 Antibody (E-10): sc-373966 is specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 2-27 at the N-terminus of Calpain 2 of human origin. The immunogenic sequence is AGIAAKLAK DREAAEGLGS HDRAIKY. Since amino acids 1-78 are missing in isoform P17655-2, this isoform is not recognized by Calpain 2 Antibody (E-10): sc-373966 or Calpain 2 Antibody (F-11): sc-373967, which has been raised against the same range of amino acids.
