AP-2α Antibody (G8/5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects AP-2α in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. AP-2α monoclonal antibody (G8/5) recognizes a crucial member of the AP-2 transcription factor family, which includes AP-2β and AP-2γ, and is known for its role in binding to the DNA consensus sequence CCCCAGGC to initiate transcription of specific genes. AP-2α (G8/5) antibody targets a protein particularly important in the regulation of genes associated with ectodermal development and has been implicated in various developmental disorders; for instance, mutations in the AP-2α gene are linked to microphthalmia and corneal clouding, highlighting its significance in eye development.
