Thyroid powder is a biochemical used for research purposes. Thyroid powder is a hormone that originates from the thyroid gland. It contains thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3), which are for regulating metabolism. T4 is produced in larger quantities than T3. T4 acts as a prohormone; it is converted into the more active T3 by deiodinase enzymes in tissues. Besides hormones, thyroid powder can contain proteins, amino acids, and trace elements that are naturally present in the thyroid gland, including iodine, which is vital for thyroid hormone production.
