SEE ALSO...

Hep B Pol Antibody (2C8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the Hep B Pol protein of Hepatitis B origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Hep B Pol (2C8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Hep B Pol (Hepatitis B polymerase) protein plays a crucial role in the viral life cycle as Hep B Pol protein is responsible for the reverse transcription of the Hepatitis B virus RNA genome into double-stranded DNA, which is essential for viral capsid formation. This enzyme not only copies both DNA and RNA templates but also has the unique ability to excise RNA strands from DNA-RNA heteroduplexes, thereby facilitating efficient virus replication. Hep B Pol protein is encapsidated within a continuous core shell along with pregenomic RNA, where Hep B Pol protein initiates reverse transcription by binding to the epsilon loop of the pgRNA. The process is primed by covalent attachment of Hep B Pol protein to a negative-sense DNA strand, which extends to form a complete strand, followed by positive-sense strand synthesis. HSP 70 and HSP 40 host cell chaperones mediate Hep B Pol protein activation, while reverse transcriptase inhibitors can block Hep B Pol protein activity. Notably, Hep B Pol protein contains a terminal protein domain specific to Hepadnaviruses, highlighting Hep B Pol protein′s importance in viral replication and significance as a therapeutic target.

How can Hep B Pol (2C8): sc-81590 monoclonal antibody be used for double or triple staining, if the other primary antibodies are also raised in mouse?

Asked by: cjMara
In this case, we recommend using a directly conjugated mouse monoclonal primary antibody. This mouse monoclonal antibody, Hep B Pol (2C8), is currently available conjugated to HRP (sc-81590 HRP), phycoerythrin (sc-81590 PE), fluorescein (sc-81590 FITC), Alexa Fluor® 488 (sc-81590 AF488) or Alexa Fluor® 647 (sc-81590 AF647)

What secondary is best to use with Hep B Pol (2C8): sc-81590 monoclonal antibody?

Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your question. While most anti-mouse IgG secondary antibodies are appropriate for use with Hep B Pol (2C8): sc-81590, we recommend using one our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins as a secondary detection reagent. A complete list of available binding proteins is available on our website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/support-products-mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-ecrety
