Ethyl 2-isopropylacetoacetate is a b-keto ester compound with an isopropyl substitution at the a-position between the two carbonyls. Ethyl 2-isopropylacetoacetate is potentially useful as in synthetic applications as a precursor to a,a-disubstituted b-keto esters, and the a-Me and a-Et analogs have been used in the preparation of stereodefined a,a-disubstituted amino acids.
