Tyrosinase Antibody (0.N.596) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects tyrosinase in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Tyrosinase plays a crucial role in the production of melanin, the primary pigment responsible for coloration in vertebrates, by catalyzing the rate-limiting step of tyrosine hydroxylation during melanin biosynthesis. Anti-tyrosinase antibody (0.N.596) enables research into enzymatic activity vital for pigmentation, protection against UV radiation, and oxidative stress. Deficiencies in tyrosinase activity can lead to various forms of albinism, highlighting its importance in skin and eye health. Additionally, tyrosinase interacts with related proteins such as TRP1 and TRP2, which are also expressed in melanocytes and contribute to melanin synthesis. These proteins share structural similarities, including a transmembrane region and metal-binding sites, and are localized within the melanosomal membrane, forming a multi-enzyme complex that enhances the stability and functionality of tyrosinase. Tyrosinase monoclonal antibody (0.N.596) serves as an essential tool for researchers studying pigmentation disorders, melanin biosynthesis, and the molecular mechanisms underlying these processes.

Can Tyrosinase (0.N.596): sc-73243 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your question. Yes, Tyrosinase (0.N.596): sc-73243 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
