SA-1 Antibody (F-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects SA-1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). SA-1, also known as stromal antigen 1 or STAG1, is a crucial 1258 amino acid component of the cohesion complex, which plays a vital role in ensuring proper cohesion of sister chromatids following DNA replication. SA-1 is primarily localized in the nucleus, where SA-1 associates with chromatin, facilitating maintenance of chromatid cohesion during cell division. Notably, SA-1 undergoes phosphorylation by polo-like kinase (Plk), a post-translational modification that triggers SA-1′s dissociation from chromatin, allowing accurate separation of chromosomes during anaphase. Errors in chromatid separation can lead to aneuploidy and various diseases, including cancer. SA-1 is expressed in key hematopoietic tissues such as thymus, bone marrow, and spleen, and exhibits 99% similarity to SA-1′s mouse counterpart, underscoring evolutionary conservation and significance in cellular processes. anti-SA-1 antibody (F-3) effectively detects SA-1 across multiple species and applications, making this antibody an invaluable tool for researchers studying chromosomal dynamics and related cellular mechanisms.
