PGRMC1 Antibody (C-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects PGRMC1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-PGRMC1 antibody (C-4) is available as the non-conjugated format. PGRMC1, also known as progesterone receptor membrane component 1 or MPR, is a 195 amino acid single-pass membrane protein primarily localized to the endoplasmic reticulum and microsomes, where PGRMC1 plays a critical role in cellular signaling. PGRMC1 contains a cytochrome b5 heme-binding domain, essential for function as a receptor for progesterone, a steroid hormone vital for embryonic development and female reproductive health. PGRMC1 is expressed in various tissues, with highest levels found in the kidney and liver, highlighting PGRMC1′s importance in metabolic processes and hormonal regulation. The gene encoding PGRMC1 is located on human chromosome X, significant not only for its role in sex determination but also for association with various genetic conditions when abnormalities occur.
