Datasheets
  • PDGF-B Antibody (C-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a, cited in 1 publications, provided at 200 µg/ml
  • raised against amino acids 136-190 of PDGF-B of human origin
  • recommended for detection of precursor and mature PDGF-B of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA
  • See PDGF-B (F-3): sc-365805 for PDGF-B antibody conjugates, including AC, HRP, FITC, PE, Alexa Fluor® 488, 594, 647, 680 and 790.
  • m-IgG Fc BP-HRP and m-IgG2a BP-HRP are the preferred secondary detection reagents for PDGF-B Antibody (C-5) for WB applications. These reagents are now offered in bundles with PDGF-B Antibody (C-5) (see ordering information below).

SEE ALSO...

PDGF-B Antibody (C-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody raised against amino acids 136-190 of human PDGF-B, reactive with mouse, rat, and human species, and validated for applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Platelet-derived growth factor B (PDGF-B) is a critical growth factor involved in cell proliferation, survival, and migration, particularly within mesenchymal and glial-derived cell populations. PDGF-B functions as one of the two disulfide-bonded polypeptide chains (A and B) that combine to form the PDGF isoforms: PDGF-AA, PDGF-AB, and PDGF-BB. These isoforms interact with two structurally related tyrosine kinase receptors, PDGF-α and PDGF-β, inducing receptor dimerization and activation. While PDGF-A preferentially binds the α receptor, PDGF-B binds to both α and β receptors, enabling broad regulatory effects. PDGF-B plays a significant role in neurodevelopment, acting as a neurotrophic factor that promotes the growth and differentiation of specific cell types in the central nervous system. For instance, PDGF-B receptors are expressed on neurons, suggesting importance in neuronal development and function, while interactions through autocrine and paracrine signaling pathways influence tissue repair and angiogenesis. Dysregulation of PDGF-B signaling is associated with various pathological conditions, including cancer, fibrotic diseases, and vascular disorders. Anti-PDGF-B antibody (C-5) provides a valuable tool for investigating the mechanisms and pathways involving PDGF-B, offering researchers insights into roles in development, disease, and potential therapeutic applications. PDGF-B (C-5) antibody is available in non-conjugated form as well as multiple conjugated options, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and Alexa Fluor® conjugates, to support a wide range of experimental needs.

I need to use an antibody to detect the protein in samples of monkey origin. Do you know if sc-74494: PDGF-B (C-5) mouse monoclonal antibody will work?
