Pbx 1/2/3/4 Antibody (E-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Pbx 1/2/3/4 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Pbx proteins are crucial members of the TALE (three amino acid loop extension) family of homeodomain-containing proteins, playing significant roles in developmental processes and gene regulation. Pbx 1, Pbx 2, and Pbx 3 share a high degree of sequence identity, particularly in their homeobox domains, which is essential for their function as transcription factors that regulate the expression of target genes involved in cell differentiation and proliferation. The structural integrity of these proteins is vital, as their homeodomain allows for specific binding to DNA, influencing the transcriptional activity of various genes. Pbx 4 is uniquely expressed in the testis, particularly in spermatocytes during the pachytene stage of meiosis, highlighting the importance of Pbx proteins in both somatic and germ cell development. Anti-Pbx 1/2/3/4 antibody (E-12) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying the roles of these proteins in normal physiology and disease states, including their involvement in human pre-B cell acute leukemias associated with chromosomal rearrangements.
