NR2E1 Antibody (EE-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects NR2E1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NR2E1, also known as TLX, plays a crucial role in the development of synaptic plasticity and the structural integrity of dendrites in retinal astrocytes, making NR2E1 vital for proper visual function and neural communication. NR2E1 is classified as an orphan nuclear receptor, which means NR2E1 binds to specific DNA sequences as part of the hormone response element, thereby regulating the transcription of target genes in response to hormonal signals. The DNA-binding domain of NR2E1 contains a conserved sequence motif, 5′-AAGGTCA-3′, which is essential for DNA interaction and determines substrate binding specificity. Predominantly expressed in brain tissue, NR2E1 is localized in the nucleus, where NR2E1 exerts regulatory functions. Importantly, mutations in the NR2E1 gene have been linked to retinal dystrophy, a condition that results in a thinning of the retina and can lead to significant visual impairment. Anti-NR2E1 antibody (EE-9) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying the molecular mechanisms underlying retinal development and associated disorders.
