NOD1 Antibody (F-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects NOD1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NOD1 plays a crucial role in the innate immune response by recognizing specific bacterial components, which is vital for initiating an appropriate immune reaction. NOD1 is primarily located in the cytoplasm, where NOD1 acts as a sensor for peptidoglycan, a component of bacterial cell walls. Upon detection of peptidoglycan, NOD1 undergoes a conformational change that leads to the recruitment of the caspase recruitment domain-containing kinase RICK, ultimately activating the NF-kB signaling pathway. This pathway is essential for the transcription of pro-inflammatory cytokines, thereby enhancing the immune response against pathogens. NOD1′s ability to mediate these processes underscores NOD1′s importance in maintaining host defense and regulating inflammation.
