GODZ Antibody (H-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Golgi-specific DHHC zinc finger protein (GODZ) in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GODZ, also known as Palmitoyltransferase ZDHHC3 or Zinc finger protein 373, is a 327 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in palmitoylation and regulated trafficking of various substrates involved in synaptic function. Located in the Golgi apparatus membrane, GODZ contains a DHHC-type zinc finger essential for palmitoyltransferase activity, which is vital for proper functioning of inhibitory and excitatory synapses. GODZ is responsible for palmitoylation of the gamma subunit 2 of GABA(A) receptors, facilitating normal synaptic GABAergic inhibitory function, and palmitoylates glutamate receptors GRIA1 and GRIA2, which is important for retention in the Golgi.
